What’s new in 3.0
Inventar 3.0 rebuilds the core workflow around how inventory actually moves: from planning and picking, to assignment, storage, field work, and returns.
Kits
Kits replace Sets in Inventar 3.0.
A Kit can be filled with individual Items, or used as a template for order picking. Kits now support Categories and Models alongside individual Items, so you can build more flexible kits without manually selecting every item upfront.
When a Kit is assigned to a user, every Item inside that Kit is assigned to that user immediately.
Storages
Storages let you track exactly where inventory lives.
You can create storage locations and sub-locations, from broad locations like Warehouse 1 down to specific places like Aisle 2, Shelf 3, Box 6.
Storage locations can also have scan IDs. This means you can place an item by scanning a location tag instead of manually selecting the location.
Organisations and People
Organisations and People have been reworked and are now centrally managed.
This makes user and organisation management more consistent across Inventar. Admins can also impersonate users directly from the admin panel with login as, which makes it easier to troubleshoot access, visibility, and workflow questions.
Access Rules
Access Rules give you more precise control over what Guest users can see.
Inventar 3.0 comes with three pre-installed rules:
- Company Inventory
- Personal Inventory
- Warehouse 1
Connect a rule to a user, and that user only sees items matching the rule.
Movements and Return Orders
Movements replace Packing Slips and Mobilisations.
They are the new logistical core of Inventar. Use a Movement to deploy, sell, transfer, or destroy items.
A Movement follows the full operational flow:
- Planned by backoffice
- Picked by warehouse
- Signed off by the recipient
- Closed by a return order
This gives teams a clearer structure for outbound logistics, handovers, and returns.
Rebuilt mobile app
The Inventar mobile app has been completely rebuilt for iOS and Android.
You can now browse inventory, create and edit Items, Models, and Categories, and keep working with full offline support.
The app supports scanning through NFC, RFID, barcode, and QR code. It also supports certification and inspection workflows, so field teams can handle more work directly from their phone.
